For Android 0.15, now officially released on Google Play.

Desktop version 0.15.10 adds an English / 繁體中文 switch. Future releases can be downloaded and installed by selecting Update inside the app.

If you use 0.15.9 or earlier, install 0.15.10 manually once. In-app updates will be available for later releases.

If this page opened on your phone, open the same URL on your Windows computer to download and install it.

Workflow

  1. After stopping and saving the GPS trip in the Android app, tap Back Up to Cloud. If you chose Later, open Settings → Account & Cloud, then tap Sign in with Google and Back Up Trips and Places Now.
  2. Open the desktop tool and choose the folder containing the JPG/JPEG camera photos.
  3. Click Sign in Google / choose trip, use the same account in the system browser, and choose a cloud trip. Click Change trip afterward to choose another trip without signing in again. If you close the browser sign-in page, click Cancel in the waiting window. Click Sign out to clear the session.
  4. Check the photo timezone and start processing. GPS-tagged copies are written to gps_output; original photos are not overwritten.

Google sign-in downloads only the current account's own Firebase manual backup. Photos and photo-folder paths stay on the computer and are not uploaded.

Version 0.15 still has an offline fallback: select a trip on the Android Trips screen, tap Export for Nature Photo GPS Tracker Desktop, and send the .gptag.json file through the Android share sheet. Click Use local trip file in the desktop tool. This is not the recommended new workflow; the Android app does not export GPX.
